OWNER / HEAD TRAINER
LISA BRADLEY CARRINGTON
Lisa Bradley Carrington learned to ride at the age of four, and was soon trotting around her childhood Pittsburgh neighborhood on a pony borrowed from a family friend.
She trained in dressage with the late Robin Millett, a graduate of l’École nationale d’équitation à Saumur, and with former Écuyer du Cadre noir Jean-Claude Barry. She studied jumping and cross-country with Olympic gold medalist Arnaud Boiteau of France, as well as several prominent local trainers and coaches.
Lisa supplemented her education with the philosophies of the old masters, including de Pluvinel, de la Guérinière, L’Hotte, Baucher, Fillis, Steinbrecht, and Decarpentry. In addition, she has intensively studied the methods of modern classicists such as Nuno Oliveira, Jean-Claude Racinet, Michel Henriquet, Philippe Karl, Bert DeNemethy, and Anthony Paalman.
By earning a certification in Equine Massage Therapy from Delaware Valley University, Lisa developed a particularly nuanced understanding of equine and human biomechanics. She specializes in compassionate work with “problem” horses, and the proper use of tack and equipment. She has helped riders of all ages and levels of ability improve their effectiveness in the saddle.
Lisa has a bachelor’s degree from Penn State and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is based in Montgomery County, PA and is available to travel throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
